Tanzania Minister William Lukuvi Dies in Dodoma

Veteran Tanzanian statesman and Minister of State William Vangimembe Lukuvi has died at the age of 70, the government confirmed on Wednesday.

Mr. Lukuvi passed away at approximately 7:00 a.m. at the Benjamin Mkapa Hospital in the capital, Dodoma. Chief Secretary Ambassador Moses Kusiluka stated that the Member of Parliament for Ismani succumbed to a heart attack while undergoing medical treatment.

Lukuvi was a prominent figure in the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party, serving in the Tanzanian parliament for over three decades. He held several high-profile cabinet positions throughout his career, most notably serving as the Minister for Lands, Housing, and Human Settlement Development.
